ArtWorks for Milwaukee offers two, year-long paid art and skill-building internships: our environmental arts internship and our graphic design and mental health advocacy internship.
Environmental Arts Internship
Our Environmental Arts paid internship ($11/hr) is an ArtWorks for Milwaukee program that utilizes community art to help spread environmental awareness, education, and advocacy. Our program’s mission is to guide the professional and creative development of our interns through the creation of community-focused, environmentally conscious, public artwork.
During 2025 programming, interns will explore topics like slow fashion, stormwater management, how to reduce plastic use and more. Past projects include painted park benches, storm drain murals at local elementary schools, and recycled bottle cap murals.
ArtWorks for Milwaukee also prepares interns with career readiness skills they can apply to any future job. Our programs incorporate resume writing, LinkedIn profiles, mock interviews, and networking workshops with other Milwaukee creatives.
This program meets virtually for "Work from Home Wednesdays" 5-7pm, and Saturdays in person from 9am-2pm at our Environmental Arts studio space, located at 4201 N 27th St Milwaukee, WI 53216. Programming will begin in January through October 2025.
