This past Saturday, August 2, 2024 marked an unforgettable day at Black Arts Fest MKE — a day where the power of inclusivity and creativity was brought to life through the dedication and enthusiasm of our inspired 2024-25 CAPE Mental Health Movement interns.
Our CAPE interns embarked on a journey that was as much about fostering community engagement as it was about professionalism, personal growth, and cultural celebration.
Each activity they contributed came from a place of extensive research and development, creativity, and a commitment to engaging festival-goers. They provided community engagement through activities such as festival themed face painting, personalized button creation, festival themed coloring sheets, Be Your Own Hero coloring book volume 1 and volume 2 sales, and chalk art designs.
After meticulous planning and executing, the interns could stand proud of their accomplishments. Their efforts successfully set a new benchmark for what can be achieved when young leaders channel their creativity and dedication toward collective goals and clearly defined objectives necessary for project success and inspiring their community.
